The test is divided into four different sections:
Reading: You will have exactly one hour to complete all the three section of IELTS. There will be 40 questions for the reading section and each question will carry one marks. The reading section consists three or sometimes four passages and the candidate has to answer the questions based on these passages.
Writing:
Writing section consists two task for writing. For the first task the candidate will have to write the answer at least in 150 words and for the second the limit exceed to 250 words. The first question in IELTS Academic will be pictorial. You will be given graph, chart, or diagrams, based on this you have to write the answer in around 150 words. While for the General training, the first question will be letter writing in the same word limit.
Listening:
This section will be thirty minutes long. Both the academic and general training candidates will face same questions. Further, this section is divided into 4 questions. The first question will be a general conversation between two people. The next question will be a monologue and then another conversation will follow in the third question. The last question will also be a monologue based on academic study or university lecture.
Speaking:
This section will hold in a different venue or maybe different time. This section has three parts. For the first one, you need to introduce yourself. For the next question, you have to speak on a particular topic. The topic for the second question will be anything in general like global warming. For the last question, the examiner will discuss on any topic or maybe the topic given for the second question.
